On World Mental Health Day let your staff leave one hour earlier!

Finn Killeen, CEO of Irish tech firm Zarrdia, is asking other business owners and CEOs to join him in letting their staff go one hour early on Thursday, October 10, World Mental Health Day.

“As a CEO the main thing our staff need is flexibility to balance work and family time. Flexibility to allow for this is a key part of nurturing positive mental health in our country’s workforce. It might just be one hour on World Mental Health Day, but it could trigger more flexibility in your workplace in general to allow for the inevitable challenges of every day life like a sick child, an ageing parent or a water tank bursting in your house. It is not just politicians and health professionals who have a role in creating positive mental health in Ireland, business leaders and employers need to step up to the challenge too, and make their workplaces more community and family friendly”, says Mr Killeen.

“This call to action won’t necessarily apply to schools, hospitals and critical services such as healthcare, but we hope to spark a conversation amongst business leaders,” adds Mr Killeen.
